Paragraph 8 of this lesson is twisted thinking, Jesus Christ has never passed his authority onto anyone else! Jehovah in the Hebrew Scriptures never allowed anyone but the "High Priest" into the "Most Holy" area of the Temple. Jesus Christ is the "High Priest" for all Christians who follower his commandments, he is the only way we can draw close to Jehovah God!
The writer of this article is stretching the truth, he adds to the Holy Scriptures, Read Luke 15:1-7, where does Jesus Christ's words imply there would be more joy of one type of "sinner who repents in Heaven" over another type of "sinner". Read James Chapter 2, tell me where James describes another kind of superior sinner, one who would be better than his Christ-like brothers? Can you find the Watchtower's specious reasoning, that "Heaven would rejoice even more so, when a Annoited Christian completed his earthly life!"???
Example, one of the "other sheep" gives up sin, becomes a self-less missionary in a highly persecuted country, her life is dedicated to Jesus Christ for Seventy years of preachings, teaching, and living the Master's commandments to a wonderful degree. She gave up everything to preach to "ears that never heard of Christ". Would her death be less celebrated in Heaven as opposed to a Governing Body member who lived in riches his whole life. He lived in comfort, luxury, and fame, the greatest sacrifice he made, was "flying Coach" to give a talk. Never once was he a missionary, he wrote about "how it might be to be a missionary". When he dies, does Heaven put a greater celebratory production, than Sister Missionary's deeds?
Read James 2:1-11 The Message
The Royal Rule of Love
1-4My dear friends, don't let public opinion influence how you live out our glorious, Christ-originated faith. If a man enters your church wearing an expensive suit, and a street person wearing rags comes in right after him, and you say to the man in the suit, "Sit here, sir; this is the best seat in the house!" and either ignore the street person or say, "Better sit here in the back row," haven't you segregated God's children and proved that you are judges who can't be trusted?
5-7Listen, dear friends. Isn't it clear by now that God operates quite differently? He chose the world's down-and-out as the kingdom's first citizens, with full rights and privileges. This kingdom is promised to anyone who loves God. And here you are abusing these same citizens! Isn't it the high and mighty who exploit you, who use the courts to rob you blind? Aren't they the ones who scorn the new name-"Christian"-used in your baptisms?8-11You do well when you complete the Royal Rule of the Scriptures: "Love others as you love yourself." But if you play up to these so-called important people, you go against the Rule and stand convicted by it. You can't pick and choose in these things, specializing in keeping one or two things in God's law and ignoring others. The same God who said, "Don't commit adultery," also said, "Don't murder." If you don't commit adultery but go ahead and murder, do you think your non-adultery will cancel out your murder? No, you're a murderer, period.
(Luke 15:1-7) 1.Tax collectors and other notorious sinners often came to listen to Jesus teach. 2 This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people-even eating with them!
3 So Jesus told them this story: 4 "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them gets lost, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others in the wilderness and go to search for the one that is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders. 6 When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.' 7 In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven't strayed away!
1 John Chapter 3: Reads
See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him. 2 Dear friends, we are already God's children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 3 And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.
4 Everyone who sins is breaking God's law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. 5 And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. 6 Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.
7 Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. 9 Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life[a] is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they are children of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers[b] does not belong to God.
Love One Another
11 This is the message you have heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12 We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous. 13 So don't be surprised, dear brothers and sisters,[c] if the world hates you.
14 If we love our Christian brothers and sisters,[d] it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead. 15 Anyone who hates another brother or sister[e] is really a murderer at heart. And you know that murderers don't have eternal life within them.
16 We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister[f] in need but shows no compassion-how can God's love be in that person?
18 Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 19 Our actions will show that we belong to the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before God. 20 Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.
21 Dear friends, if we don't feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.
23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God's commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.

@ Cels, if only the W.T.S. was able to deliver on all their good advice, their followers could never get the sense of these articles, whose fault is it? The selfish "do it yourself ones", "the false brothers in the midst" or "the heartless ones who don't care?"
@Balaam: This article is good on paper, but I never saw this kind of action shown to the elderly and witnesses who served their whole life without blemish, did you? I know in my area, older ones are the "Elephant in the Room" they are easy to dimiss, "out of site, out of mind!"
I hope you are able to get your loan back, "the squeeky wheel get's the oil!" "Keep on asking and it will be given!"
" w62 7/15 p. 441 Consideration for Older Persons and Afflicted Ones
Today Christian overseers must be alert to the plight of older persons and afflicted ones in the congregation. Members of the congregation must likewise be awake to show kindness to those deserving Christians who are destitute, aged, widowed, blind, crippled, bedridden or perhaps confined in an institution some miles away. If you are an overseer, ask yourself: Do I keep the congregation advised as to who is sick or afflicted? Because of my regularly making such announcements has the congregation formed the good habit of telling me who is in difficulty? Have I encouraged Christians "who are rich in the present system of things . . . to work at good, to be rich in fine works, to be liberal, ready to share"? (1 Tim. 6:17, 18) Remember, Jehovah rejected "the shepherds of Israel" because, as he said: "The sickened ones you have not strengthened, and the ailing one you have not healed, and the broken one you have not bandaged, and the dispersed one you have not brought back, and the lost one you have not sought to find." (Ezek. 34:4) Caring for God's flock may involve material assistance as well as spiritual aid. In cases of poverty the congregation committee can determine what measures should be taken by the congregation, keeping in mind Paul's counsel at 1 Timothy 5:3-16."

I like how honest this part is "I encourage you to keep searching using God's Word as your only standard of truth."
I agree with it, use your Bible until you feel comfortable to move onto other materials on your Spiritual Journey. Peace!

Why Do Introvert Elders Even Bother, What's Their Game?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis insomething that has troubled me for some time, why do introvert personalities reach out for the office of overseer?.
this personality does not help with shepherding the flock (other brothers pick up their slack, their too shy for judicial committes), they are not upbuidling for the brothers and sisters (their long lost stuttering problem resurfaces when asked to call m.i.a.
congregation memebers) and they are useless for widows and orphans (i can't help little father-less davie, my online role playing games are all time consuming!

Something that has troubled me for some time, why do introvert personalities reach out for the office of overseer?
This personality does not help with shepherding the flock (other brothers pick up their slack, their too shy for judicial committes), they are not upbuidling for the brothers and sisters (their long lost stuttering problem resurfaces when asked to call M.I.A. congregation memebers) and they are useless for widows and orphans (I can't help little father-less davie, my online role playing games are all time consuming! I am too tired and busy, after working with my mop all day, I did not sign up for this!!) Yes, you did , you moron! You asked to be made an Elder!
If you don't like people, why did you allow yourself to be appointed to Ministerial Servant, and eventually a Elder? Your wife promised more sex if you were more active, more visible in your congregation (you mentioned that one night when we were drinking!)
You were good at kissing the right amount of arse, you bought nice gifts for your C.O. and key elder body members but you lack love! You failed to prepare your heart to serve the brothers and sisters, you found yourself in a position you did not belong in, why not quit? What did you ever do for the congregation sheep, other than accept their hospitality and unearned praise? Not once, did you extent your hand to help weak ones get into the field ministry, nor check up on the sick widows or terminally ill, unless you were forced to do these unpleasant chores!
Now that you have been an elder for a decade or two, your personality has never changed, you don't like dealing with problems in the Congo, why don't you step down? The brothers are tired of picking up your slack, your parts lack zeal, you have been afraid since the day of your appointment to Servant, again, why not quit? Playing video games in secret while mustering the boldness to point your finger at young ones for the same sin, is out right evil!
These are the kind of elders Jesus Christ spoke of, they took their coin and burried it into the ground, afraid to do business to increase the "Master's Talent". A sister could be missing for a year, and our Goober elder would make plenty of excuses why he should not call to check up on her.
"ARE YOU IN GOOD HANDS OR "GOOBER ELDER'S" HANDS"?

Horrid Time for Me

BOTR, you have figured out your pain levels will fluctuate with your anxiety levels, the more anxiety and stress, your pain will amplify to new high levels.
Take time away from posting on the forums, your body's position while sitting might add more stress, equaling more pain.
Morphine pumps will have some negative side affects, I am not talking about addiction or dependancy, (Headaches, Nausea, Constipation) and a plethora of other fun things,
Changing up will help bust through "deep pain", my brother was exposed to some nasty stuff in Gulf War 1, he is screwed up good.

Solar Eclipse Tomorrow, May 20, 2012
by ohiocowboy infor anyone interested, tomorrow there will be an annular eclipse of the sun, which will be seen from china and japan to the middle of the united states.. below is a link to a site that shows an animated map of how the eclipse will appear in your neck of the woods.
just click on your state or country and go from there.. if you want any more info on this eclipse, you can do a google search.. here in the dfw area, the sun will be eclipsed about 90%, which should still provide a decent show.
those living on the east coast of the usa will not be able to see it though, due to the fact that the sun will already have set in that area..

Have All Pedophile Cases Been Settled Worldwide?
by Bubblegum Apotheosis in.

"You need to stop talking about the "elder-pedophile" who molested you, you will be reproved for "Gossiping" or Disfellowshiped!"
How would you handle this matter, that landed into your hands? Would you obey the Slave or the "Law Of Humanity"?
I have been trying to expose some freaky men, In my adventures, I found most dubs are cowards, they don't want to know the truth!
At first, I thought it was a lie, that forgiveness flows freely to repentant pedophiles. I was wrong, there is an unspoken rule, elders have no real choice but to disfellowship the sin of adultry, even if the one committing fornication is insane. Why is this same rule not applied to pedophiles, sex offenders, making them subject to automatic disfellowshiping for five years? Punishment should be stronger, than two consenting adults committing adultry? Why no leniency with crazy ones? There is no "not reason by mental defect" clause, I have seen ones who were mentally retarded disfellowshiped for porne'ia, while confessed child fondlers kept their position of elder. That's just wrong!
One pedophile that remains elusive, knew the "three year rule" written in the 1970s literature, he outplayed his elder body, and kept his position, knowing how the Watchtower's waffle policy of handling wicked men, gave this elder "watchtower theology precedent". Victims are treated as "wrong doers" by lying P.R. spokesman for sympathizers of pedophiles, pedophiles attend field service frequently, they are considered "good brothers" victims are so screwed up, they are considered "weak", "Faders" because of the damage wicked men have inflicted on them!
If you can silence your sheep from cryings, your Kingdom Halls will appear to be bless by Jehovah God! Pedophiles can say "Look I am out in Field Service thirty hours a month!" "My accuser does not preach door-to-door like me, they don't give parts, I must be forgiven and Jehovah has rejected my victims!" It's very sick and I hate talking about this horrible subject, that is swept under the carpet!
